FAQs
SCTE has a CableLabs All Access Program available for CableLabs operators. More information can be found here.
Organizations that are currently or previously participated in the Corporate Alliance Program may transition into one of SCTE’s new Corporate Programs—either the Broadband Connector Program (BCP) or the Corporate Connector Program (CCP)—based on their role in the industry. SCTE designed these new programs to provide greater flexibility, clearer benefits, and more opportunities for collaboration and visibility. Current Corporate Alliance members will receive personalized guidance from SCTE to ensure a smooth transition and to help select the program that best aligns with their goals.
The main Broadband Connector Program (BCP) is designed for vendor and contractor organizations while the Corporate Connector Program (CCP) is created for non-CableLabs operators looking to collaborate with SCTE, access professional development resources, and strengthen their workforce. Both programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of participating organizations, and have differing commitment requirements and benefits.
By reaching out to the SCTE team, we can best help tailor your participation to your organization’s goals and needs. Overall, participation in each program is based on your company’s annual broadband revenue, with corresponding spend levels that align to your reported revenue tier. This structure ensures that organizations of all sizes can engage with SCTE at a level that fits their budget and goals.
The best part about these programs are that they are tailored to your organization’s needs. You select options from the following list that add up to your committed spend:
- TechExpo Booth and/or Meeting Rooms
- Sponsorships for TechExpo, Chapter Leadership Conference, SCTE Energy 360 and more
- Standards Participation
- Professional Memberships for groups of 30 or more individuals
- Seats for SCTE Leadership Institute Programs
- Tabletop display at the CableLabs Tech Summit (previously CableLabs Winter Conference)
- Training/Learning Packages (virtual/on-site)
- Certifications for Groups of 50 or more
In addition to the above, there are included benefits depending on the program and tier you participate in (information found earlier on this page). To learn more about or select the options specific for your organization, please contact us.
Getting started is simple! Contact our team via the form below and we will work with you to customize a plan that best fits your organization’s needs.
SCTE’s Corporate Programs are customizable partnerships designed for organizations across the broadband industry. They provide companies with flexible engagement options, exclusive benefits, and access to SCTE’s learning, networking and visibility opportunities. The programs help corporations connect with peers, develop their workforce and stay at the forefront of broadband innovation.
Programmers
Whether you deliver linear, streaming or FAST channels, your business depends on reliable distribution. SCTE develops the standards and brings together the companies responsible for advertising, streaming infrastructure, metadata exchange and content delivery so programmers can help shape how their content reaches audiences.
Historically, many programmers viewed SCTE that way. Today, the industry is far more interconnected. Streaming, advertising technology and content distribution require collaboration among programmers, operators, technology providers and distributors. SCTE provides the forum where those groups work together.
SCTE standards increasingly address the realities of modern streaming architectures. Standards such as SCTE 35, SCTE 224, SCTE 250 and SCTE 301 support workflows related to advertising, metadata, content rights and multi-platform distribution.
- SCTE 35: signals the precise frame where a program segment ends and an ad break begins (and vice versa).
- SCTE 224: defines what actions are permitted or required for a given chunk of time based on geographic location or device type (among many other things).
- SCTE 250: serves as the API bridge between a Signal Acquisition System (like a live cloud video encoder or packager) and a Signal Decision System (an automated workflow controller).
- SCTE 301 is a recommended practice that provides a framework for assembling, scheduling and distributing linear and FAST channels across multiple platforms. It helps programmers scale distribution, improve interoperability and support advanced advertising workflows without rebuilding systems for every distributor.
SCTE TechExpo brings together the engineers, operators, distributors and technology providers implementing the systems and standards that affect content delivery. It gives programmers an opportunity to learn, influence industry direction and build relationships with key distribution partners.
Programmers can participate in SCTE standards activities, working groups and industry initiatives that address advertising, streaming delivery, metadata exchange and emerging distribution technologies. Participation provides an opportunity to help shape the standards that affect future business and technical operations.
