Colorado State University Global

Broadband Operations Management Certificate

SCTE and Colorado State University Global have partnered to offer a Broadband Operations Management Certificate, launching in November 2025. This 16-credit program combines CSU Global coursework with credit for SCTE certifications to prepare members for careers in broadband deployment and operations.

  • 10% tuition discount for all SCTE members on every CSU Global program
  • Transfer credit for completed SCTE certifications, including BFI, BFTS, CEP, and Broadband Wireless Specialist

Online Associate Degree Pathway

SCTE and Fort Hays State University have teamed up to offer an Associate of General Studies (AGS) degree with an emphasis in Computer Science and Telecommunications. This unique, flexible 60-credit-hour program combines SCTE-provided training with FHSU’s accredited online courses, allowing you to:

Rio Salado College

Associate of Applied Science in Broadband Telecommunications

SCTE partners with Rio Salado College to offer an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Broadband Telecommunications. Rio Salado evaluates SCTE training through its Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process, allowing you to:

  • Earn up to 9 free credits for SCTE’s Broadband Premises Installer (BPI) and Broadband Wireless Specialist (BWS) bundles
  • Transfer credits from other institutions
  • Finish your degree online at your own pace
  • Get real credit for real-world training

How to Apply Your Credit

To submit eligible credits to the Rio Salado College Prior Learning Assessement (PLA) process, you must:

  1. Get Admitted Apply and get admitted to Rio Salado College. Note: Admission processing can take 24 hours.
  2. Submit PLA Form Complete the Credit for Prior Learning by Evaluation or Certification form on the Rio Salado College website. SCTE will be contacted to verify your certification and course completion.
  3. Wait for Processing Allow up to 2 weeks for verification and processing.

Financial Support

You may be eligible for:

  • Employer tuition reimbursement: Receive up to $5,250 per year in tuition reimbursement. Please consult your organization’s Human Resources department for specific eligibility requirements and application procedures.
  • SCTE Foundation grants: Apply for grants of up to $1,500 through the SCTE Foundation. Additional information and application details can be found at sctefoundation.org.
  • Federal or state financial aid: Financial assistance may be available through Rio Salado College or Fort Hayes University. Please contact the school’s financial aid office for guidance on available programs and how to apply.
