TechExpo25 Ignites Global Connectivity and Industry Action

October 2, 2025
30 years of SCTE Standards

Washington, D.C. recently played host to TechExpo25, North America’s largest and most influential broadband event, organized by SCTE®, a subsidiary of CableLabs®. This year’s reimagined program brought together industry leaders, policy makers, innovators, and global partners to turn vision into action—accelerating progress toward a seamless connected future.

A Convergence of Industry and Policy Leadership

TechExpo25 convened over 1,500 unique companies from 54 countries, alongside 45 members of Congress, 120 congressional staffers, and key state representatives. This unparalleled gathering helped shape the broadband landscape through meaningful dialogue and strategic collaboration.

Policy sessions featured insightful conversations between FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and NCTA President & CEO Cory Gardner, as well as remarks from FCC Commissioners Anna Gomez and Olivia Trusty and NTIA Administrator Arielle Roth, offering a clear look at the regulatory path ahead. All headliner sessions are available on demand here.

Innovation in Action: Moving Beyond Theory

TechExpo25 shifted its focus from theoretical discussions to real-world deployment. Through immersive sessions on agentic AI, edge intelligence, DOCSIS® 4.0, PON, 5G, Fixed Wireless Access, sustainability, and software-defined services, attendees experienced how standards are being applied to solve urgent challenges.

This year’s format emphasized live demonstrations, master classes, and case studies, showcasing scalable innovation in action. The debut of the StreamTech track highlighted infrastructure powering streaming at scale, reinforcing TechExpo’s commitment to tangible, deployable solutions.

By the Numbers: TechExpo25 at a Glance

  • 1,500 unique companies represented
  • 54 countries in attendance
  • 290+ exhibitors, sponsors, and partners
  • 300 speakers and thought leaders
  • 71 journalists and industry analysts

The Tech Policy track stood out with The Continuum, a 10,000-square-foot exhibit spotlighting industry innovation, investment, and the key policies driving broadband’s future.

“Today, standards are in practice, careers have clear pathways, chapters are sharing knowledge globally and executives are driving coordinated action. This is how the broadband industry accelerates from ideas to results,” said Maria Popo, SCTE President and CEO.

Building the Workforce of Tomorrow

As broadband networks expand, developing a skilled and resilient workforce has become a top priority. SCTE is forging partnerships with NCTI, Colorado State University Global, and others to grow certification-based learning and create clear career pathways at every stage. This effort strengthens the pipeline of technical professionals essential for the industry’s future.

Strengthening Global Chapters and Community

SCTE launched ChapterConnect, a new digital hub that empowers chapters worldwide to share resources, knowledge, and best practices. Notably, SCTE announced the expansion of its global footprint with the upcoming launch of its first international chapter in Chennai, India, through a new license agreement—ensuring chapters are connected on equal footing worldwide.

Coordinated Industry Action: STRIKE Initiative

In a powerful demonstration of leadership, SCTE partnered with NCTA – The Internet & Television Association and major broadband operators to launch STRIKE (Strategic Threat Response & Infrastructure Knowledge Exchange). This new initiative tackles broadband infrastructure sabotage as a national security issue, coordinating rapid response strategies between industry and government. STRIKE’s first meeting was held during TechExpo25.

Celebrating Excellence Across the Industry

The SCTE Industry Awards recognized individuals making extraordinary contributions:

  • Dan Levac, Senior New Business Development Manager at PLP – Member of the Year
  • Brent Garren, Telecom Maintenance Senior Foreman at Conway Corp – Spirit of the Games

These honorees embody the innovation, collaboration, and leadership driving broadband forward.

A Connected System for Accelerated Results

The true impact of TechExpo25 lies in how its initiatives reinforce each other. By connecting standards, workforce development, chapters, and executive leadership, SCTE is building a powerful system that propels the broadband community from vision to execution—delivering the robust, future-ready networks the world depends on.

Looking Ahead to TechExpo26

Planning is already underway for TechExpo26, taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, from September 29 to October 1, 2026. The event will continue to unite the broadband industry in shaping the connected future together.
