What is Fiber Optics and how do we use it?
Jeffrey Matson
Career born out of the AT&T Divestiture of the 1980’s. Served in the US Army Signal Corps as a Tactical Satellite and Microwave systems operator 31QY1 till 1991 in Bremerhaven West Germany. Certified in Fiber optics by Fiber Light International 1991. Helped deploy the first continental OC-198 in the USA for Qwest Communications 1998. Built the first HFC delivered phone service in Indiana with Firstmile Technologies in 2001. Designed and Specified the MetroNet EPON video and HSD delivery network and Headend in Evansville Indiana 2002. Contracted engineering services and installations for Multiple carriers, AT&T, MCI, Sprint, Ameritech, Insight and Comcast. Joined Comcast in 2012 as a MetroE engineer and currently leads the MetroE team in Heartland Tech ops. Interest outside of Fiberoptics are Camping, Gardening and dogs. Dad of 4 and one grand child so far in Noblesville Indiana.

John Bennett
A lifelong resident of Indiana, Mr Bennett graduated from Ball State University in 1997 with Degrees in Economics and Marketing. The following year Mr Bennett formed Team Sales Inc (TSI), a technology based consulting firm exclusively serving the MSO market for the past 24 years. In 2015 Mr Bennett formed Matrix Engineering, a Chicago based fiber engineering and construction company focusing on fiber splicing, testing and activation of optical networks.

How we measure quality and performance of Fiber Optics.
Geoff Galligher is the Midwest Territory Manager for Exfo. Geoff has been in the Communications Industry since 1986 in capacities ranging from Installation Technician to Engineer and Sales, and brings 35+ years of experience in Telco, Cable, and Wireless Network experience to Exfo. Raised in the Detroit area, Geoff has lived in all corners of the country, as well as in Germany and Saudi Arabia while in the US Army. A proud father of 2 children, Geoff has lived in Carmel, IN with his wife for the last 20 years rooting for his beloved Michigan Wolverines and Indianapolis Colts.
