Badger State Chapter will be presenting Never Have a Repeat! This seminar will be held in Fond du Lac on Wednesday, 4-25 and Eau Claire on Thursday 4-26. This seminar will focus on "Cable 101" with a strong emphasis on the seemingly little things that we tend to take for granted as Technicians. Statistically, the primary causes for repeat trouble calls are coax connectors, ingress/signal leakage, and WiFi network coverage. We'll also discuss best practices to turn a customer's frustration into a positive outcome while enhancing your own skill-set and confidence-level.Date and Location: WHEN: Thursday – April 26th. 2018WHERE: Sleep Inn and Suites: 5872 33rd Ave, Eau Claire, WI - 715-874-2900Agenda:8:30am - 9:00am: Registration - Continental Breakfast9:00am - 9:10am: Chapter Business9:10am – 10:30am: Fittings & Connectorization / Roger Mathews, Application Engineering – PPC - PPC will cover drop connectorization and cabling at the customer premises, which is a major contributor to trouble calls. ***Attendees are asked to bring their prep tools, compression tools, and safety glasses to this seminar!10:30am - 10:45am: Break10:45am - 12:00pm: Signal Leakage & Home Certification / Tony Dean – ComSonics - Tony will cover the signal leakage, including the different types (analog/digital, VHF/UHF), FCC rules and troubleshooting techniques. He will review Analog vs. Digital signal considerations along with Home Certification12:00pm to 1:00pm: Lunch 1:00pm - 2:15pm: Wifi / Scott Van Der Heyden – Charter Technical Training Department - Scott will cover advancements in the n and ac standard – beamforming and mu-mimo. He will spend time also on customer interaction and education, proper wireless router for the customer’s needs, along with proper router placement as these have a large impact on repeat calls.2:15pm - 2:30pm: Break2:30pm to 3:45pm: TQA / Ken Van Den Plas – Charter TQA Team - Ken will discuss the most common areas noted by the TQA team which could result in a trouble call.
