Category of HDTV video, a pixel resolution of 1080 horizontal lines x 1920 vertical lines, e.g., 1080 x 1920 / 2 = 1,036,800 pixels of resolution.  


1080p 1080 progressive

A set of high definition (HDTV) video modes characterized by 1080 lines of vertical resolution and progressive scan (as opposed to interlace scan). Usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a resolution of 1,920 pixels wide by 1,080 pixels high.
