General Listserv Courtesies

  •  Remember you are using a service that numerous other members are also using.  Avoiding conduct that is inconsiderate or causes inconvenience to others.
  • Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location, and e-mail address.
  • Clearly and concisely state the topic of your comments in the subject line. Messages with a blank subject will be rejected. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting.
  • Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply; delete any header or footer information that is not relevant.
  • Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information from which  everyone can benefit.
  • Send messages such as ""thanks for the information"" or ""me, too"" to individuals--not to the entire list.
  • Do not send administrative messages, such as "Remove me from the list" through the Listserv. Instead, use the Web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from the list.
  • Warn other list subscribers of lengthy messages either in the subject line or at the beginning of the message body with a line that says ""Long Message.""
  • Do not send attachment.  Messages with attachments will be rejected by the server.

If you do not agree to these guidelines, you are free to remove your email address from the list at any time at http://www.scte.org/forms/listunsubscribe.cfm
