COMMSCOPE’S DRENDEL, ARRIS’S STANZIONE
RECOGNIZED WITH SCTE CHAIRMAN’S AWARD

JUNE 25, 2008 (Philadelphia, PA)—The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) is pleased to announce today that SCTE Board of Directors Chairman Tom Gorman has honored Frank Drendel of CommScope and Robert Stanzione of ARRIS with the 2008 SCTE Chairman’s Award.

The purpose of the SCTE Chairman’s Award is to salute individuals and organizations that have demonstrated significant support for the Society and its mission.

Gorman, who is vice president, field operations with Charter Communications, presented the award during the Annual Awards Luncheon this afternoon at the 25th Anniversary SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2008 in Philadelphia. Expo, SCTE’s flagship event, continues through Friday and is featuring a sold-out, technology-focused exhibit hall and 20-plus technical workshops.

Drendel, chairman and CEO of CommScope, and Stanzione, chairman of the board, president, and CEO of ARRIS, provided “critical support and direction during the past year to my fellow SCTE leaders and me as we responded to the groundbreaking industry initiative calling for consolidation of the industry’s trade shows,” said Gorman, in presenting the award. “The arduous change process successfully resulted in aligning the industry’s annual events beginning in 2009 into a spring week and a fall week. The task was monumental, so thank you, Frank, and thank you, Bob, for your expert help in ensuring a smooth transition and favorable outcome for SCTE.”
