IP Challenge 2015Get ready to test your IP Knowledge!

The annual SCTE IP Challenge provides cable professionals an opportunity to showcase their IP knowledge by competing in a blended-style Jeopardy match that includes traditional questions, router and CMTS configuration, and hands-on activities. The SCTE IP Challenge consists of two online virtual qualifier matches and an in-person live final, during SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2015, which utilized hands-on activities to bridge traditional RF to IP knowledge transfer.

From the customized online virtual qualifier match eight participants were be selected for the live, in-person finals during Cable-Tec Expo. These eight participants  received a free pass to Cable-Tec Expo, where they competed against one another as well as the defending 2014 IP Challenge Champion in the live IP Challenge final.

Virtual Qualifier Matches-Are Closed
Two customized online Jeopardy qualifying matches took place, in which the eight highest scoring participants were selected for the finals. Participants answered 36 questions in six IP-related categories: Routing, Network Theory, CMTS DOCSIS®, Internet Protocol, Configuration, and Multimedia over IP through the online qualifier.

Qualifying for the event is open to all interested individuals, however only SCTE members employed by an MSO with the eight highest overall scores were selected to participate in the live finals during Cable-Tec Expo, Oct. 13-16 in New Orleans, LA. Interested non-SCTE members can become an SCTE member for only $75 to be considered for the live SCTE IP Challenge final. Click here to join SCTE.

   

Winning the IP ChallengeLive In-Person Final at Cable-Tec Expo
The overall top eight qualifiers from the virtual qualifier matches received a complimentary registration to SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2015 in New Orleans, Oct. 13-16 where they competed in the live IP Challenge final on Tues., Oct. 13 as Cable-Tec Expo kicked off.

The final competition at Cable-Tec Expo, Tues., Oct. 13 from 5:30-7:30 pm, provided contestants an opportunity to compete in a blended-style Jeopardy match that includes traditional questions, router and CMTS configuration, and hands-on activities. The overall first-place winner of the IP Challenge will be the cable industry's 2015 IP Challenge champion.

 Grand Prize IP Challenge winner received:

  • The 2015 SCTE IP Challenge title
  • Complimentary registration to SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2016 to defend their IP Challenge title and compete in the 2016 IP Challenge live final.
  • Complimentary pass to Cisco Live 2016
