EXPANDED AGENDA OF ENERGY MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE TO HIGHLIGHT SCTE SEMI FORUM ON MARCH 15 IN PHILADELPHIA
JAN. 25, 2012 (Exton, PA)—Energy expertise from the cable telecommunications industry and beyond will be in ample supply when the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) hosts the industry’s largest energy management event to date, the SCTE SEMI (Smart Energy Management Initiative) Forum on Thursday, March 15 in Philadelphia.
More than a dozen panels across three different tracks—Strategy, Outside Plant/Fleet, and Facilities—will be conducted during the all-day conference at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. Experts representing cable system operators, vendors and industry organizations will deliver case studies and research presentations that will discuss power, density, performance and sustainability issues.
The first SEMI event to be open to attendance by all interested parties, the March 15 SEMI Forum has been designed to drive increased understanding of the business benefits of comprehensive energy management strategies. Additional information on registration and sponsorship is at http://www.scte.org/events/scte_semi_forums.aspx.
“As cable system operators configure their networks for the delivery of new services, smart energy management strategies are increasing in importance,” said Derek DiGiacomo, senior director, information systems and energy management for SCTE. “Our March 15 SEMI Forum agenda has been designed to address the topics that can help the industry not only to reduce operational costs, but also to ensure the continued availability of power for Business Services, Home Security and other new service offerings.”
