AUGUST 22, 2011 (Exton, PA)—The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced that a stellar panel of thought leaders from the vendor community will address technology-driven opportunities that are on the horizon for the cable industry as part of the opening session of SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® this fall.
The Vendor Partnership panel, part of a Nov. 15 kickoff that will include insights from Cox Communications president Pat Esser and Motorola Mobility chairman and CEO Sanjay Jha, will feature innovators well-positioned to discuss cable IP and multi-screen future, including:
- Bob Stanzione, Chairman and CEO, ARRIS;
- Bob McIntyre, CTO, Service Provider Group, Cisco;
- Justin Rattner, Vice President and CTO, Intel Corporation;
- Dan Moloney, President, Motorola Mobility; and
- John Revie, Senior Vice President, Home Entertainment Product Marketing, Samsung Electronics America.
Designed to set the tone for Cable-Tec Expo as the industry’s premier engineering event, the opening session also will feature keynote remarks by Esser that will highlight the roles of technology and customer service in meeting subscriber expectations, as well as a conversation between Esser and Jha on how evolving cable networks and wireless can help to meet customer demands. Additional opening session participants will be announced in the near future,
"The innovations that are powering change in cable are coming not only from our traditional vendors, but from new players who recognize the value of partnering with our industry," said Terry Cordova, chairman of the program committee for Cable-Tec Expo and senior vice president and CTO of Suddenlink Communications. "Our vendor panel will provide additional perspective that will complete the picture of the future that will be painted by Pat, Sanjay and others."
In addition to the opening session, the Nov. 15-17 Cable-Tec Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center will feature 40+ sessions comprising more than 70 individual presentations and addressing such imminent issues as leveraging IPTV and untethered devices; powering improved services for business customers; and evolving networks to provide more capacity, greater reliability and more efficient operations.
Together with a Capacity Management Symposium and select workshops on Monday, Nov. 14, the educational portion of SCTE Cable-Tec Expo will encompass more than 25 topic areas in Business Services, Engineering, Technical Operations, Plant Operations and Facilities. In addition, Cable-Tec Expo will offer sessions in conjunction with Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA).
