SCTE-Cisco Certification Prep Course Bundles

CiscoSCTE-Cisco CCNA Bundle 1
Bundle includes two (2) courses:

  • CCNA1: Introduction to Networks
  • CCNA2: Routing and Switching Essentials

These web-based courses prepare individuals to support the cable industry as it continues to grow the IP infrastructure for video, voice, data, Wi-Fi and business services. Understanding configurations, Wi-Fi, security, network address translation (NAT), routing and switching is critical for the engineers, field personnel, installers and maintenance technicians who will support the next generation cutting-edge cable networks.

ICND1/CCENT-Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices (Part 1) for Cable Professionals
The program also prepares individuals to take the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) industry certification exam, 100-101. CCENT certifies that cable professionals have developed the practical skills required for entry-level networking support positions. In addition, this certification is designed to assess a student's aptitude and competence for working with Cisco routers, switches and Cisco's internetwork operations system (IOS™).

The CCENT/ICND1 exam is an optional first step toward earning the Cisco CCNA® network associate certification, which is the foundational certification for networking careers in the telecommunication industry.

Completion Period: Both courses, and any retakes, must be completed within 12 months of purchase.

Cisco Certification Exams
Completion of these courses is not required prior to taking the Cisco certification exams. The exams are administered through Pearson VUE (Virtual University Enterprises, www.vue.com) and are not part of the courses.

Course Format and Delivery Method
Each course is delivered online through the SCTE over several weeks according to the SCTE Training Course Schedule, during which participants view web-based course materials, perform exercises and complete labs and assessments at a time that is convenient for them. A weekly-scheduled, live instructor coaching session (optional, but participation is strongly suggested) provides direct interaction with the instructor.

Participants spend approximately 6-12 hours per week, on average, completing the various course activities in order to maximize the learning benefits. Approximately 80% of this schedule is determined by the participant (viewing online materials, completing labs and exams), and approximately 20% is determined by the live instructor coaching sessions. A live, online orientation is scheduled on the first day of each class and the schedule for coaching sessions is determined by the students and instructor during the orientation.

Scheduling
After purchasing an SCTE-Cisco Academy course bundle, you will be registered for the first course in each CCENT/CCNA series/bundle. Each supplemental course will start based on the SCTE Training Course Schedule and you will be notified by e-mail when each course starts and ends. You'll receive all your textbooks and a course access e-mail during the week before the first course begins.

When you complete the course successfully*, the SCTE will register you for the next course in the series/bundle. If you do not complete the course successfully*, you will be registered for the same course on the next date it is scheduled to be offered. In both cases you'll receive an e-mail confirmation.

Each course must be completed successfully before starting the next course in the series/bundle.
